Okay, this is the final Daily Dose for the foreseeable future here at Jay Crow Comics.
That doesn't mean it's the final DD, though. This started over at ComixTribe.com, and it's going to head back there.
I think this was a good column. It taught me a lot. I also didn't do much self-promotion here. (Self-promotion sometimes makes me feel funny.) However, this last one is going to be all about me, so forgive me for a moment while I toot my own horn a bit.
I do The Proving Grounds every week at ComixTribe.com. If you're a writer and think you're ready, step on in and try your luck. Understand that while everything said is actionable, some of it is showmanship. I never say anything that is untrue, and I never ridicule a script that doesn't deserve it. If you put in the work, you could get glowing words said about your piece. Read the rules. Read some entries. Make a decision based on that. Remember, it's called The Proving Grounds for a reason.
Speaking of putting in the work, I've also written a lot about what it takes to create a comic and bring it to the shelf. Bolts & Nuts are articles that you can find on just about any topic on creating comics you care to name, written in a way to be accessible to everyone.
I'm also available for hire for editing and writing. I can be reached at email@example.com, or 520-334-4633. If you call, leave a message if there's no answer. I can also be reached via text at that number. (I work at night, and may either be asleep or at work if you call. Texting may be easier.)
So, again, the DD is moving back to ComixTribe.com. It can be followed there.
I want to thank Joshua Crowther for the opportunity, and I want to thank you all for staying with me this past year. It really means a lot, and I hope to see you all next year!
